Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about KADOE Finder

Common Questions

Getting Started
How long does it take to get set up?

After you register and submit your DVLA contact details, we review your application and forward it to the DVLA. They will contact your nominated person to verify your registration. The full process typically takes 2-5 business days depending on DVLA processing times.

Getting Started
Who does the DVLA contact?

The DVLA contacts the person you nominate on our registration form. This should be someone at your company authorised to confirm your link provider arrangements.

Switching
Can I keep my existing DVLA authorisation?

Yes. Your authorisation category (Car Parking Management, Insurance, etc.) stays the same. You're simply changing your link provider to KADOE Finder.

Switching
Can I switch from another provider?

Absolutely. You can register with KADOE Finder while still using your existing provider. Once your DVLA registration with us is confirmed, you can switch over at your own pace - or run both in parallel during transition.

Billing
Do credits expire?

No. Use them whenever you need them.

More Questions

What is KADOE?
General

KADOE stands for Keeper at Date of Event. It's a service provided by the DVLA that allows authorised organisations to obtain the name and address of the registered keeper of a vehicle at a specific date.

Who can use KADOE services?
General

Organisations with a legitimate reason to access keeper data, such as parking operators, solicitors, insurance companies, and finance companies. You must be registered with the DVLA through an authorised link provider.

Can I use both the web portal and API?
Features

Yes. Your credits work across both the web portal and API. Many customers use the portal for manual lookups and batch uploads, while integrating the API with their parking management software for automated queries.

Is my data secure?
Security

Absolutely. All data is encrypted with AES-256, hosted exclusively in UK data centers, and we maintain full GDPR compliance. We also maintain a 7-year audit trail for all KADOE queries as required by DVLA regulations.

What support do you offer?
Support

We provide email and phone support during UK business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm). All customers have access to our comprehensive API documentation and getting started guides.
